What Direction Are You Moving?
How are “You” talking to yourself?
Let me tell you a store and lets see how it resonates with you.
A man and his son were hiking in the mountains. Suddenly, the little boy slipped and slid about thirty yards down the mountainside, getting caught in some brush.
Frightened, yet unhurt he called out, “Somebody, help me!”
A voice called back, “Somebody, help me!” The youngster looked surprised and confused. He said, “Who are you?”
The voice shouted back, “Who are you?”
The boy started to get aggravated. “You’re a coward!” he yelled.
The voice shouted back, “You’re a coward!”
The boy shot back, “You’re a fool.”
The voice repeated, “You’re a fool.”
Just about that time the father reached his son and helped him from the brush. The boy looked up and said, “Dad, who is that?” The father chuckled and said, “Son, that’s called an echo, but it’s also called life. Son, let me show you something”.
The dad shouted out, “You’re a winner!”
The voice shouted back, “You’re a winner!”
The dad’s voice boomed, “You’ve got what it takes.”
The voice boomed back, “You’ve got what it takes.”
The dad shouted, “You can make it.”
The voice shouted back, “You can make it.”
“Son that’s exactly how it is with life. Whatever you send out always comes back to you.”
So, let me ask you, are you sending out the wrong messages?
I’m worthless. I’m stupid. I’m broke.
Replace that with, I’m smart, I’m valuable, and I have success in all areas of my life.
Talk to yourself as if you are a winner.
My handicap son Ashley say’s all the time, “Take your disabilities and turn them into abilities.”
If you say you can, you can.
If you say you can’t, then you are probably right on that also.
All things are possible; but you gotta believe it.
“The greatest thing in the world is not so much where we stand but in which direction we are moving.”
Our thoughts become our words. Our words become our actions. Our actions become our habits. Our habits become our character. And our character becomes our destiny.
