Amazon Dates & Fees Be Aware Of
I always try and look for the Bright Side in Everything.
So, although we are facing our 6 and 12 month Amazon Fees; we are preparing to be entering into Q4!!
On February 15 and August 15 of every year, FBA conducts an Inventory Cleanup, at which time inventory units that have been in Amazon fulfillment centers between six and 12 months are assessed a Long-Term Storage Fee of $11.25 per cubic foot. Units that have been in fulfillment centers for 12 months or more on the Inventory Cleanup date are assessed a Long-Term Storage Fee of $22.50 per cubic foot.
August 15th is almost upon us.
Units in fulfillment centers six to 12 months – Long Term Storage Fee, per cubic foot – $11.25
Units in fulfillment centers 365 days or longer – Long Term Storage Fee, per cubic foot – $22.50
To provide additional flexibility to maintain your unique selection, one unit of each applicable product ASIN will be exempt from the semi-annual Long-Term Storage Fee. Please note, FBA accounts for inventory on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis when calculating the Long-Term Storage Fee.
This means if you have 8 items that have been stored in a FBA warehouse for 365 days or longer, only 7 will be charged the fee.

Amazon does not want to be a Dumping Ground for product. Every year Amazon grows larger and adds more warehouses. Amazon wants only to be your Short-Term storage facility and to help motivate you to do this, they instituted the long-term storage fee.
Start lowering your prices and clean up your FBA and make some quick cash to reinvest, Instead of paying Fees. I do have a product now and then that it is worth paying the fee. If I’ve bought something that will be an awesome product for Q4 and I paid such a low amount and the profit is High, I will pay the fee. Last year I bought a Disney product for $5.00 and from experience I knew I could sell that product for $50 or more. That product sold about the middle of November for $65
Amazon will send you an email with a link to their recommended removal page to avoid a fee.

So, start lowering your price, do multi-fulfullment and list your items on eBay as well. If you have a lot of products, Joe Lister is a great way to list your items on eBay.
And if they don’t sell by August 15th, leave them at Amazon or have them removed and sent back to you. You can then sell on eBay, craigslist or if you have a booth at a flea-market, sell them there.
